Happy 4th of... 4th of... who the f*ck are YOU?!??

Hey kids,

Just got back from watching the fireworks in Carson. Well, not really. We got home around 11-ish, but when we pulled up in the driveway, daddy asked, "Where's the stroller?" I had left it sitting beside the car at our parking spot back in Carson. So I jumped in my truck and drove all the way back (at least 40 miles round trip), and sure enough, there it sat. Just another example in a long list of examples of momma's newfound, super-enhanced, hypothyroid-induced forgetfulness. Scary shit. At least we made it home with YOU, baby!

Here's you earlier in the day, in the car on the way to Carson:

As we were driving home (the first time...), I spied lots of little boys and their parents walking down the street on their way back from the fireworks, and I secretly got kind of misty. Gosh, I miss ya, Jakob. For the time being, I have to make do with photos that your grandpa emails us. Here's you and your new haircut that I'm not 100% sure I like:

You're awfully cute, though, regardless. Look how grown-up you look. Swoon...

Wavy tried mochi for the first time today. I wanted to make sure I took a photo of the gorgeous packaging before we tore into it, and BONUS! I managed to capture that rarest of things: you smiling for the camera. Jake's such a ham, he's all smiles and squinty eyes when the camera comes out, but you usually manage to look like someone just pistol-whipped your dog (see above).

And then, mochi goodness:

All right. Off to bed. Sleep tight, kids. Love you.
