Hey Jakey,
I'm hoping some benevolent sugah-daddy's gonna be reading this, and will send the above strollers in a variety of colors for the new baby. Get this: renowned designer Philippe Starck has worked his mojo on a line of Maclaren baby things. I mean, how cool is that. Not that I would expect anyone in our backwater little town to fall to their knees in appreciation of finer things as we sashay past with our designer stroller. But momma would know -- and appreciate -- and that's enough. Hear that, benevolent sugah-daddy?
Your Nana and Papa got into town yesterday, and you finally have your partners in crime back. You've been especially naughty the past couple of days, and since your daddy and I don't want to shout at you or give you time-outs while they're around, you've been getting away with murder. But -- you've also been hella adorable. Keep it up, we may be able to trick them into taking you home with them when they leave.
I've also been particularly nauseous. Here's my gross story for today: as I was cleaning up after dinner, I managed to puke on the pile of dishes in the sink. Your Nana ran in and offered to finish up. Mighty white'a her. Your daddy would never have done that.
I finished up the last of my two summer reading books and now I have nothing. So sad. I won't be getting Scott Smith's "The Ruins" mailed to me until it's released on July 18. What to do, what to do. I'll probably sneak out of the house tomorrow and make a run for the Borders. I hope I can find this. Yeah, I like horror. Call me a dullard, or vacuous, but horror floats my boat and whiles away the short hours between the time you fall asleep and the time I force myself to go to bed.
So, guess I'll have to read myself to sleep tonight with the latest issue of Star magazine.... Love you!

Ha. Regarding stuff that works and looks good, I soooo wish I could go back in time and edit my baby registry. So much stuff we never used, and so much other stuff we *coulda* used but just didn't know to ask for!
I'm eagerly awaiting the Scott Smith book on the 18th. He wrote a really great one several years ago, "A Simple Plan," that they made an awesome movie out of, but he hasn't been heard from since. Didn't find anything I wanted at Borders yesterday and came home with some that might be clunkers, we'll see.
