Oh my... you're just a mess, aren't you?

Hey Jakey,

Long time no blog. It's been hell-month. I want to say thanks to those of you who wrote to check in on us.

"Oh my... you're just a mess, aren't you?"

Those are the words uttered by my perinatologist's receptionist when I called to schedule an appointment. She took one look at my medical records and I could almost *see* her cringe.

Over the past month my BP has skyrocketed, as has my sugar. That, combined with being "AMA" ("advanced maternal age," codeword for "older than dirt") has led my OB to pawn me off on a couple of different high-risk pregnancy doctors for now.

Plus, I'm working from home now, which has done absolutely ZILCH for lowering my blood pressure.

More on all this later. I'm too overwhelmed right now to even *begin* writing a decent blog entry.

But before I take off again, here's a shout-out to my good friend L, your favorite aunty, who spent last weekend with me, smokin' and drinkin' and doin' all sorts of fun stuff. Well, at least I got to WATCH her smokin' and drinkin'. She promised that she'd leave us a comment!
