Telogen effluvium: Latin for "Kill me now. Please."

Sanjaya, the next American Idol ... or ME, about 20 years and 400 pounds ago? Seriously, he's got my hair, and I want it back.

Hey Wavy,

Speaking of hair, you truly are the gift that keeps on giving. I mean, does this post-partum shit never end?

So I started noticing a few weeks ago that I had to vacuum the bathroom floor a bit more often. That there were a few more hairs in the bathtub than normal. That there were more and more hairs on my hairbrush, clinging to my clothes, your clothes, my pillow. On my food, in the sink (bathroom and kitchen!), draped across my nose, clinging to my hands.

Finally, I screwed up the courage to type "hair loss" into webmd.com. I feared the worst: kidney failure, brain hemmorage, CANCER.

No, it's just telogen effluvium, or normal post-partum hair loss. Everything is supposed to be back to normal in about a year. I didn't even know that there was such a thing. I didn't experience this with Jake.

I remember my adorable, alcoholic convict hairdresser (K, who is currently under house arrest for something-or-other!), asking me after Jake was born if I noticed my hair thinning out at all. I didn't. She shrugged and said, Lucky you.

What's next? I mean, really...

Love you, sleep tight, cutie.

Hey, Kelly! Thanks for posting on my Son Volt pics, it was a great show. We got there at 8:45, and walked right up to the front of the stage, great spot for photos!

I ran into Jay outside when I was hurrying back to my car to get the camera, but he looked angry and I was too chicken to say anything. I regret that one. Doh!

I think I am going to try and see Minus the Bear on the 5th in Sacramento. I will be seeing the Rapture and Shiny Toy Guns at Club Underground on the 29th!

Maybe I'll run into you at some show somewhere ... northern Nevada is small!

I see you bought that Lucinda disc, man it's good!

Cheers!
