Ta-dah!!! We're fine!

To all friends and relatives who called, emailed, etc. we are fine. It just seemed that we were more involved than we actually were, as my job required me for a time to monitor minute-by-minute online news about the event, and I know quite a few people who were actually affected by the fire, including some who lost everything.



Jakey! You missed all the excitement, but your grandma and grandpa are bringing you back home to us tomorrow. I missed you with all my heart, and don't think I will be able to make it through my workday tomorrow, knowing that you are home and I am not.

So... in newspaper-speak, I have a news alert:

Your sister is crawling. Up on her hands and knees and crawling forward. She had been scooting around backwards for a couple of weeks now, but on Friday, June 29, she made her first headway forwards. Of course, she did it while I wasn't home, but she has been showing off for me ever since.
