Hey Jakey,

I've gotten a late start on my garden this year. As I'm putting it together, I've noticed how different this one is from last year's. I'm sure it's all your fault! Last year at about this time, I was pregnant with you, and just a wee bit fussier about my garden than I am this year. I was face down in the dirt with a ruler, measuring out exact inches between seeds. Everything was in rigid rows, and the flowers were arranged in rows of yellow, then blue, then orange, then blue, then white. Dear God. This year, I'm just haphazardly throwing in stuff that I think looks pretty. And no growing from seeds this year. That takes way too long. I go down to Home Depot and buy flats of interesting stuff and shove it in wherever it will fit. I'm goin' with the flow this year. I guess having a baby puts you in that mindset. "I'd rather have an untidy garden than no garden at all." -or- "I'd rather have a quick, unthorough shower than no shower at all." -or- "I'd rather gobble my food and not taste it than not have dinner at all."

Back to work. You and me, we'll talk later.
